As workplaces are upgrading their meeting spaces with the latest digital technology, some might be relying on a laptop or tablet to control their videoconferencing hardware and software. But these devices are not built for this purpose – with several applications running in the background, your tablet might not have the capacity to run your meeting smoothly.

That’s why Logitech launched Tap, a USB-connected touch controller designed for the modern office. Tap room solutions connect to your meeting-room computer and come pre-configured with software from leading conference solutions providers. Just don’t call it a tablet!

What sets Tap apart from a tablet?

Logitech Tap is a USB touch controller that connects to a meeting room PC. Unlike tablets, it is always ready to use, with a motion sensor to automatically wake the system when people enter the room, built-in Kensington lock slots and no battery to charge. Logitech’s DisplayLink technology offers plug-and-play connectivity as an additional display for added applications and user experiences.

A meeting solution for rooms of all sizes

Logitech Tap is designed to fit in any space, from the huddle room to the boardroom. Here’s how to deploy it in small, medium and large rooms:

Small rooms: In a one- or two-person room, Tap can be mounted on the wall. For a typical huddle room, which seats up to six people, you could also combine a table-mounted Tap with a Logitech MeetUp conference camera below the display.

Medium rooms: Medium meeting rooms could use a Logitech Rally as the video conferencing solution, along with a Logitech Tap on the table for control.

Large rooms: Tap works well in a classroom environment that would incorporate a Logitech Rally Plus with multiple microphones and a Logitech Tap for control. Boardrooms may utilize a riser on the Logitech Tap, as well as the Logitech Rally Plus solution for the larger meeting space.

What video conferencing software will Tap work with?

Tap is optimized for three leading video conferencing solutions: Google Hangouts Meet, Microsoft Teams Room and Zoom Rooms. These applications are designed for ease of use in meeting rooms, with features like calendar integration, touch-to-join, instant content sharing and always-on readiness.
